Fear and anxiety can be so frustratingly crippling in our lives...and when we are dealing with it all we want is to get rid of it. The scriptures have a great deal to say about the ridding of anxiety from our lives, however, we are often loath to embrace it because it means surrendering our pride and embracing a lifestyle of humility.
Fear seems to be everywhere. Even when we are not experiencing a global pandemic, people can often be paralyzed by their fears in various situations...and we are all in the same boat - all of us deal with fear. As believers, we have an awesome ally against fear in God and the knowledge that not only is He at work in our lives, but that He has promised to be with us. His presence with us is the key to overcoming fear.
Like a recipe without its secret ingredient, a Christian without God's love flowing through them is just not the real thing. As followers of Christ, we ought to pursue love above all things so that somehow we might be able to tangibly demonstrate God's love and character to all who would seek it.
God is listening. One of the most comforting aspects of God's character is that He is near, He is sees, hears and knows, and He cares about us. The scriptures tells us that God has given us an open invitation to come to Him, lay our needs before Him, and that He promises to hear and respond.
